84 Lumber Celebrates Top Associates from 2019 During Annual Awards Banquet

EIGHTY FOUR, PA. (March 9, 2020) – On the heels of one of its most successful years to date, 84 Lumber, the nation’s largest privately held building materials and manufactured components supplier, honored its top performing associates who have made positive impacts within the company and across the country. The awards were presented during the company’s annual awards banquet on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania.
The most notable awards of the night were presented to Mark Ingersoll, area manager in Georgia and Eastern Tennessee; Dan Jones, manager of the North Charlotte store; and Joseph Payne, co-manager of the Lynchburg, Virginia store. Ingersoll was honored as the Area Manager of the Year for the second time, having won the award his first time as the area manager in Florida.
Jones was presented with the coveted Manager of the Year Award after celebrating his 30th year with the company. This is Jones’ sixth time winning the award, once as the manager in Toledo, Ohio and five times as the leader of the ever-growing North Charlotte location.
Payne took home the Rookie of the Year Award and was selected among the top four qualified candidates representing each division in the company. All top candidates were selected by their divisional vice president and interviewed by senior leadership at 84 Lumber team headquarters. Payne demonstrated quick success and a strong commitment to 84 Lumber.

Other honorees included Manufacturing Manager of the Year, Buyer of the Year, Team Headquarters MVP and more. Various merit awards were also presented for best sales performance and improvement.
Since first opening its doors for business in 1956, 84 Lumber has experienced exponential growth and now has more than 250 stores and 5,600 associates nationwide. In 2020, 84 Lumber is actively targeting new areas for growth including opening new stores, component plants and EWP facilities.
