84 Lumber Caps Record Year by Giving Back to the Community

Company takes part in major holiday initiatives to make a difference for those in need

EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (Dec. 12, 2017) – ‘Tis the season to make a difference, and 84 Lumber intends to do just that. The company, in tandem with several philanthropic initiatives throughout the region, is giving back to individuals, organizations and communities in need. Together with 96.1 KISS, Pittsburgh Magazine, WTAE, iHeartMedia and the Best of the Batch Foundation, 84 Lumber is participating in the following holiday initiatives this winter:

  • For the second year in a row, 84 Lumber partnered with 1 KISS for Stuff-A-Bus. Between Nov. 27 and Dec. 1, 84 Lumber helped drive awareness and facilitate donations to this annual program benefitting Toys for Tots. A total of 59 buses were stuffed with toys and other donations.
  • Give Big Pittsburgh with Pittsburgh Magazine
    • Together with Pittsburgh Magazine, 84 Lumber helped raise more than $1 million for various organizations throughout the Pittsburgh region.
  • Polar Bear Jump with WTAE
  • 84 Lumber is supporting WTAE’s annual Polar Bear Jump with a $2,500 t-shirt sponsorship. The proceeds will benefit Project Bundle-Up.
  • Winter Warm Up with iHeartMedia and 3WS
    • Hosted in January, and with proceeds going to the Dollar Energy Fund, 84 Lumber is partnering with iHeartMedia to build visibility of Winter Warm Up.
  • Best of the Batch Foundation
    • 84 Lumber donated $10,000 to the Best of the Batch Foundation, discovered and operated by professional football standout Charlie Batch. These funds will be used to purchase pots and pans for nearly 130 local families.
