84 Lumber Establishes Workshops to Educate Hurricane Harvey Victims on the Rebuilding Process
Houston (October 2, 2017) – “What am I supposed to do now?” Weeks after Hurricane Harvey swept through southeastern Texas, dumping several feet of rain and flooding hundreds of thousands of homes, this is the question that remains for so many.
That’s why 84 Lumber has partnered with Compass 82, a non-profit organization with extensive experience in guiding relief and rebuilding efforts during the early days following a disaster. Together, the two organizations will hold several educational workshops in Houston for homeowners and contractors affected by the storm.
“Everyone’s situation is different. Unfortunately, there’s no recovery playbook to follow or a step-by-step process that works for everyone,” said Adam Eckley, 84 Lumber’s government sales manager and National Business Emergency Operations Center (NBEOC) industry liaison. “With these workshops we want to streamline the recovery process to help our customers and neighbors get back to normal. It’s easy to get frustrated by the unfamiliar processes and regulations but together, we can help rebuild Houston.”
84 Lumber will host three workshops for contractors and homeowners. Experts from Compass 82 and 84 Lumber will be available to guide attendees and answer questions about the relief process. Specific focuses for each session include:
