84 Lumber Hires John Hathaway As Vice President of Real Estate and Development
Eighty Four, Pennsylvania – June 24, 2016 – 84 Lumber, the nation’s leading privately held building materials and services supplier, is pleased to announce that John Hathaway has joined the company as Vice President of Real Estate and Development.
In his role, Hathaway will be responsible for overseeing 84 Lumber’s extensive development strategies, including new market development, new store construction and redevelopment and expansion in existing markets.
Hathaway’s appointment comes on the heels of 84 Lumber’s announcement in March that it has established a new office in Phoenix and plans to nearly double its footprint in the western United States, where the company already operates 19 stores across Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.
“John is filling a critical role for us, as we look toward the development of more than a dozen new stores over the next 18 months in markets like Boston, Seattle, Salt Lake City, and Boise,” said 84 Lumber Owner and President Maggie Hardy Magerko. “I am thrilled to have someone of his caliber and experience join the 84 family.”
Hathaway most recently was Vice President of Real Estate and Construction for Hanger, Inc., a medical device company, where he managed a portfolio of 1,200 leased and owned properties across the United States. Prior to that, Hathaway served as Vice President of Real Estate at Cinemark International, leading Cinemark’s expansion throughout South America, Asia and Europe.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Willamette University, and an MBA from the University of Texas. Hathaway will reside in the Pittsburgh area with his wife and two sons.
