EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (March 13, 2018) — 84 Lumber held its annual awards banquet Friday, March 9, to recognize the company’s best performers of 2017. Among the honorees were Manager of the Year and the second annual Rookie of the Year. The event was held at 84 Lumber’s sister company, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, and was attended by the honorees and various company leaders, including owner and President Maggie Hardy Magerko.
Some of the main award winners were:
Manager of the Year: Dan Jones, North Charlotte, N.C. (#2315)
- Jones has led the North Charlotte store for more than 10 years and has been one of the driving forces behind its growing success, including becoming the first-ever 84 Lumber location to reach $100 million in sales in 2017. During his time as manager, Jones has built and retained a strong, reliable team that he nurtures through structured training and exemplary leadership. He also challenges his associates to consistently raise their own bar and find new ways to improve performance.
Rookie of the Year: Mike Kamouyerou, co-manager, Greenville, S.C. (#2404)
- In less than a year after joining the company as a manager trainee at the Bridgeville, Pa., store (#217), Kamouyerou was promoted to co-manager of the Greenville, S.C., location in October 2017. The company’s second Rookie of the Year, Mike was selected from among more than 20 candidates for demonstrating professional and personal success, as well as a strong commitment to the company’s core values.
Other honorees included Area Manager of the Year, Buyer of the Year, Hauler of the Year and more. Various merit awards were also presented for top sales performance and improvement.
“2017 was such a monumental year for 84 Lumber,” said Magerko. “Our team really gave it their all. We’re looking forward to building on that momentum this year and beyond.”
