84 Lumber Presents Donation to Boy Scouts at 29th Annual Golf Outing

Company and vendor partners donate nearly $140,000

EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (Sept. 7, 2018) – 84 Lumber continued its long-standing support of the Boy Scouts of America by contributing nearly $140,000 to the Westmoreland-Fayette Council, based in Greensburg, Pa. The company, along with its vendor partners, presented the donation Aug. 20 at a reception honoring the 29th annual Joe Hardy / 84 Lumber Golf Invitational at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

The three-day event featured premier golf on Nemacolin’s Shepherd’s Rock and Mystic Rock courses and hosted more than 300 attendees, including troop leaders and scouts from the Westmoreland-Fayette Council, as well as 84 Lumber vendors and associates. The highlight of the occasion was the check presentation by Maggie Hardy Magerko, owner and president of 84 Lumber and Nemacolin.

“The Joe Hardy / 84 Lumber Invitational is one of our largest philanthropic events of the year,” said Hardy Magerko. “We continue to admire the tremendous work of the Boy Scouts organization and their mission to provide young people with knowledge and skills that will benefit them in various aspects of their lives.”

84 Lumber also named Andersen Windows its 2018 Vendor of the Year at the reception. The recognition is based on various factors, including sales growth and above-and-beyond support.
