Nemacolin Announces the Grand Lodge

The Resort’s Luxurious, All-Suite Hotel Debuts This Fall

Farmington, Pennsylvania (May 9, 2023) - Nemacolin, the award-winning, luxury destination resort tucked among the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania, announces The Grand Lodge, opening this fall. Located within the heart of the 2,200-acre property conceived by Joseph A. Hardy III in 1987, The Grand Lodge is an all-suite, contemporary, and elevated interpretation of the resort’s original lodge.

To bring this vision to life, the resort’s owners, the Hardy family, assembled a talented team of architects and designers including 84 Lumber; Martik Brothers, Inc.; Moncur Design Associates, Inc.; Gensler; and King & Partners. Inspired by the resort’s history and natural surroundings, The Grand Lodge will feature 56 breathtaking suites complete with exclusive butler service, personalized amenities, and new restaurants and bars.

“As the property evolves and modernizes, it is important for us to take a new look at the lodging options,” says Owner & CEO Maggie Hardy. “Rather than refresh and renovate the existing rooms with new beds and amenities, Nemacolin has chosen to invest in an extensive transformation and reimagination of the resort’s original building, creating a contemporary revival of this treasured hotel space. Upon its completion, The Grand Lodge will feature inviting and modern spaces that harken back to a historic and revered time while providing the comforts and luxuries guests expect in a property such as ours. And, as with everything we do at Nemacolin, a touch of fun and whimsy will be infused throughout the reimagination.”

The Grand Lodge experience will begin the moment guests arrive under a glass porte cochère and are greeted by a dedicated butler team. Upon entering the striking lobby, guests will be welcomed by a grand split staircase, crackling fireplace, sumptuous furnishings, and upscale decor incorporating the glamorous and magical elements for which the resort is known.

The Grand Lodge will offer extended spaces to provide guests with more indoor comforts, a Juliet or walk-out balcony, and an outdoor element to take in the beauty of the resort. Make-believe will come to life with grand four-poster beds and fanciful boutique embellishments. Large bathrooms, many with freestanding soaking tubs, will feature marble countertops and flooring, chandeliers, and elegant gold and brass accents that will create a luxurious atmosphere where guests can unwind after an activity-filled day. Select suites will also offer a fireplace, enhancing the inviting aura.

“When developing the interior design of The Grand Lodge, it was deeply important to Nemacolin ownership to find a way to merge nostalgic and contemporary aesthetics to create a modern iteration of a woodlands retreat. By using mid-century elements such as lighting, jewel tones, and gold and marble accents, we’ll marry the styles with luxury and elegance,” says Trey Matheu, managing director of Nemacolin. “In transforming The Grand Lodge, visitors will discover a restful and rejuvenating space that embraces the property's antiquity in a sensational way. We’re reimagining hospitality at Nemacolin, and we look forward to revealing more of the details in the coming months before reopening this lodging option for overnight getaways in fall 2023.”

The Grand Lodge will offer six types of suites, starting at the Junior King Suite for $2,000 per night and ranging to The Grand Lodge Penthouse Suite.
